Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has officially proposed to his long-term partner, Georgina Rodríguez, marking a new milestone in their decade-long relationship.
Georgina, 30, shared the news on Instagram with a photograph of her hand holding Ronaldo’s, showcasing a spectacular diamond engagement ring. In the caption, she wrote: “Yes, I do — in this life and in all our lives.”
The couple’s love story began in 2016 when they met at a Gucci store in Madrid. They have since started a family, raising three of their own children along with Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr.
A Ring to Remember
Spanish media outlets report that the engagement ring features an oval-cut diamond weighing between 25 and 30 carats. Jewelry experts estimate its value to be between $2 million and $5 million, depending on its clarity and design.
The engagement comes during a busy period for Ronaldo, who currently plays for the Saudi club Al-Nassr and remains one of the highest-paid footballers in the world.
Ronaldo and Georgina have navigated personal triumphs and shared tragedies, including the devastating loss of one of their newborn twins in 2022. In previous interviews, Ronaldo had stated he would marry Georgina “when the time is right.” This engagement marks a significant milestone for the couple, whose relationship has been in the public eye for nearly a decade.
