A major accident near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport shut down a state highway in Irving on Thursday morning, police said.
Irving police said on Twitter about 5:20 a.m. that eastbound State Highway 183 was shut down between Valley View Lane and County Line Road. All traffic to the airport was being diverted to the westbound highway, the tweet said.
Police said the highway was expected to be closed for “several hours.” It remained closed as of 6:25 a.m.
No information about the crash was immediately available.
