Food safety teams conducted a raid on a factory producing counterfeit cold drinks located on Lahore–Sheikhupura Road, resulting in the unit being sealed. A case was registered, and six individuals were taken into custody.
According to the Director General of the Punjab Food Authority, the operation was carried out in the Ghareebabad area under his instructions. During the raid, authorities destroyed 3,600 liters of fake cold drinks, 15,000 bottle caps, packaging material, 80 liters of flavored chemical, 47 kilograms of empty bottles, and a twister found on site.
Additionally, a vehicle, filling machines, nine gas cylinders, a tank, a drum, a cooler, and various utensils were confiscated. DG Asim Javed stated that on-site tests failed, prompting immediate action. The counterfeit beverages were intended for distribution in Lahore and surrounding areas.
