The upcoming Asia Cup Super 4s match between Pakistan and India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (September 21) will be officiated by the “controversial” match referee, Andy Pycroft. According to reports, the ICC’s controversial match referee, Andy Pycroft, has issued an apology to the manager and captain of the Pakistan cricket team. During the Group B match between India and Pakistan on Sunday (September 14), Pycroft had prevented the captains of both teams from shaking hands. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reacted strongly to Pycroft’s actions. Pycroft described the September 14 incident as a result of miscommunication and offered his apology. The ICC has agreed to conduct an inquiry into the code of conduct violation that occurred during the match on September 14. Both Pycroft and the Indian captain were found to have violated MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) regulations. Pakistan took a principled stance, demanding Pycroft’s removal from the Asia Cup and calling for the Indian captain, Suryakumar Yadav, to be penalized for his political remarks.
