Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday reaffirmed that no act of aggression against Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity would go unanswered.
The army chief made these remarks while visiting Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), where he paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs.
Paying Tribute to the Martyrs
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Asim Munir laid a floral wreath at the Jammu and Kashmir Monument and honored the unparalleled sacrifices of the Shuhada.
He also praised the professional excellence and combat readiness of the deployed officers and soldiers operating in the challenging conditions of Kashmir.
Emphasis on High Combat Readiness
The COAS commended the high morale and vigilance of the troops, stressing the importance of maintaining peak operational preparedness to counter any hostile provocations.
He expressed full confidence in the battle readiness of the armed forces, assuring that the military would respond decisively to any threats.
Reaffirming Support for Kashmiri People
Later, during his visit, General Asim Munir interacted with notable figures and war veterans of Kashmir, reiterating Pakistan’s steadfast support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
He stated that India’s atrocities and rising Hindutva extremism were only strengthening the resolve of Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination.
The army chief firmly declared:
“Without any doubt, Kashmir will be free one day and will become part of Pakistan as per the will and destiny of the Kashmiri people.”
A Strong Message on Kashmir Solidarity Day
His visit came on February 5, a day when the nation marks Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri cause.
