Chrissy Teigen, who has openly discussed her journey with sobriety, recently looked back with humor at a wild night that occurred just three months into her sobriety in early 2021.
For those unfamiliar, in 2025 at the Golden Globes, the then 39-year-old American model was notably seen consuming champagne and became a meme sensation for her distinctive “cry face” while her husband, John Legend, performed Glory from the film Selma.
However, six years prior, in 2021, Teigen was sober and vividly recalled that particular night, labeling it a “legendary moment.” Yet, she also humorously referred to her “drunk dumba****” self, adding, “May she forever live in the past, lol.”
Notably, on May 15 of this year, the mother of four, who had maintained sobriety for four years, publicly shared that she had experienced a relapse.
Teigen stated, “To have to admit to all of you that I let [alcohol] back into my life… to let a lot of you down, oh I feel it deeply. The truth is, I don’t know what I’m doing.” Referring to glamorous evenings, she quipped, “I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine.”
“Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show. And then I felt bad for making kind of an a**** of myself to people that I really respected.”
Teigen credited, “Holly Whitaker changed my life, changed my perspective and changed how I view the f**** beast that is alcohol.” The Extra star candidly admitted, “I one hundred percent know I like me better sober. I one hundred percent know I get more done, I absolutely feel better in my body without it.”
