China has successfully launched its Shenzhou-21 mission, marking another significant milestone in its ambitious and rapidly advancing space program.
According to Chinese state media, the mission is headed to the Tiangong space station. This particular flight is historic because its three-person crew includes China’s youngest-ever astronaut to travel to space, signaling a new generation of space explorers for the nation.
The launch took place from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in northwest China. The crew is scheduled to live and work in orbit for a six-month period.
This is the seventh crewed mission to the Tiangong space station since its completion in 2022. Chinese media has described the launch as another “important step” in the country’s space exploration goals.
