Pakistan and China’s media cooperation has reached new heights, and it’s a testament to the strong bond between the two nations. China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zhiyou, expressed his thoughts at the 9th China-Pakistan Economic Media Forum in Islamabad. The Ambassador praised the forum’s efforts in fostering mutual trust and public opinion between the two countries.
Ambassador Zhiyou emphasized that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has played a significant role in Pakistan’s economic and social development. He stated that CPEC has become the flagship project of the China-Pakistan Belt and Road Initiative. The Ambassador also commended the China-Pakistan Media Forum for countering baseless propaganda with facts and figures. The forum has introduced initiatives such as the Golden Anchor Award and the Journalists Fellowship Program to promote CPEC’s positive coverage.
The Ambassador highlighted China’s strong economic performance, with a 5.2% increase in GDP in the first three quarters of the year. He also pointed out that the high-tech manufacturing and electric vehicle production sectors have shown significant growth, indicating China’s economic resilience. In contrast, Pakistan’s GDP grew by 3.04% in the last fiscal year, with economic indicators exceeding expectations. The country’s foreign exchange reserves have also surpassed $20 billion for the first time.
Ambassador Zhiyou underscored the significance of international organizations recognizing Pakistan’s economic progress. He also hinted that the upcoming 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations will mark a new era of cooperation between the two nations.
In his address, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of the media in promoting the success of CPEC and strengthening Pakistan-China ties. He said that the media plays a crucial role in portraying the benefits of CPEC to the Pakistani public.
The Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail, expressed his confidence in Pakistan’s ability to win the economic war, saying that the country has already won the war against India. He emphasized the need for unity among Pakistanis to achieve economic prosperity.
