BTS member Jungkook recently revealed that he has watched the popular animated Netflix movie, ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’. Since its release on Netflix, the film has achieved global success, topping charts in 41 different countries, attributed to its exceptional animation, compelling narrative, and memorable songs.
During a surprise solo livestream on the South Korean application Weverse, the youngest member of the renowned K-pop group openly discussed the profound impact the movie had on him. The livestream, which lasted for two hours, also commemorated the second anniversary of his hit single, ‘Seven’, and featured the segment where Jungkook shared his reaction to ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’. A translation provided by @ryuminating conveyed the ‘Left and Right’ singer’s sentiments, which he expressed in Korean.
“I cried watching ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’,” Jungkook stated. “I genuinely cried at the end. When everyone was falling for Saja Boys and [the heroine] declared, ‘I’ll create my own honmun,’ and charged into the venue by herself, I reacted with an ‘ohhh’ and then the tears started flowing. It was truly sad.” He elaborated, “I believe I cried when Jinu died at the end. It wasn’t so much crying because it was sad, but rather due to an overwhelming surge of emotion. Sad genres make me cry too, but when it’s genuinely emotional… You understand, don’t you? I’m sure you do.”
It’s worth noting that ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ centers on K-pop idols Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who utilize their hidden demon-slaying abilities to safeguard their fans from demonic entities.
