The Government of Sindh has appointed Javed Akhtar Oudho as the new Inspector General of Police Sindh, following the departure of Ghulam Nabi Memon. Oudho has confirmed that the Establishment Division has notified his appointment. He has been serving as the Additional IG Karachi since July 2024 and will now take over the reins of the Sindh Police.
Oudho has a long and illustrious career in the Sindh Police, having joined the force on July 11, 1998. He has held various positions, including Deputy Superintendent of Police in Larkana, Ghottki, Badin, Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta, Matiari, and Hyderabad. He has also served as the Additional IG West Karachi, Special Branch Skkar, RRDF, and has held other key positions in the Sindh Police.
Oudho’s appointment comes at a time when the Sindh Police is facing several challenges, including rising crime rates and law and order issues. The new IG is expected to bring his expertise and experience to address these issues and ensure the safety and security of the people of Sindh.
