Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan and the Pataudi family have won a long-standing legal battle over their ancestral land in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The case, which has been ongoing for nearly 25 years, has finally come to an end, with the district court ruling in favor of the Pataudi family. The land in question, valued at approximately 16,000 crore rupees (1.6 billion dollars), is spread over 16.62 acres in Neapura, Bhopal.
According to court records, the dispute began in 1998 when Aqeel Ahmed and others filed a lawsuit against the Pataudi family, claiming that the land did not belong to them. The plaintiffs alleged that the land was gifted by the former ruler of Bhopal, Nawab Hamidullah Khan, to their ancestors in 1936. However, during the course of the trial, the plaintiffs failed to produce any concrete evidence to support their claim, and the court ultimately dismissed their case due to lack of evidence and delay in filing the lawsuit.
With the court’s ruling, the Pataudi family’s ownership of the land has been legally recognized once again. Saif Ali Khan, his mother, actress Sharmila Tagore, and his sisters have been vindicated in their long-standing battle for ownership of the land.
