Imran Khan, the nephew of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, has finally broken his silence on the topic of family ties and its impact on his career in the film industry. In a recent podcast, Khan spoke candidly about his experiences, including the highs and lows of his career, his relationships, and the financial struggles he faced in the industry.
Khan, who started his career as a child artist in 1988 with the film “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,” but gained fame as an adult in 2008 with the hit film “Janeman,” spoke about the challenges he faced in his early days as an actor. He revealed that his first film’s success made him famous overnight, but soon he faced a scarcity of work, and his fees increased temporarily after the success of his first hit film. However, Khan clarified that the notion that his family ties made his career easy is far from the truth.
“I am not a product of my uncle’s fame,” Khan said. “My aunt is my mother’s cousin, and their earnings are not mine. I don’t get any financial help from them.”
Khan also spoke about the financial struggles he faced in the industry, revealing that even A-listers like Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor earn significantly more than others. He also admitted that being away from the industry for a decade had its financial repercussions, and he faced some personal issues, including a separation from his wife, Onaita Malik.
Currently, Khan is working on a new film, “Happy Patel: The Spy,” directed by Veer Das and co-produced by Koy Shastri. This is a significant milestone for Khan, as it marks her fifth project as a producer after joining the industry as an actress.
