The police had accused them of duping a doctor, Ajay Morya, of Rs 30 crore by promising to make a biopic on his late wife. Morya had filed a complaint in Udaipur’s Bhupalpura police station, alleging that the couple had promised him a share of Rs 200 crore for the biopic but did not start the production.
The police had registered an FIR on November 17, alleging that the couple had duped Morya of Rs 30 crore and more by making false promises of film production and profits. The couple is accused of creating fake bills to commit the fraud.
This is not the first case of financial fraud against Vikram Bhatt and his wife. In the past, they have been involved in several controversies, including a case of cheque bouncing.
