A man from Parker County remains hospitalized following a dramatic rescue captured on video, where firefighters pulled him from a blazing mobile home. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on Saturday near 14000 Briar Road in Azle. The victim, identified by neighbors as Tim Nicholson, suffered burns covering more than 50 percent of his body.
By Sunday, Nicholson’s Azle mobile home showed clear signs of devastation: the front porch and siding were charred, and the interior bore visible fire damage.
Neighbor Tommy Johnson recounted the initial moments of the fire, describing hearing crackling sounds before discovering the blaze. He promptly alerted his family and dialed 911.
Body camera footage from Parker County emergency responders captured the intense efforts of firefighters battling flames engulfing the home’s front porch. Inside, amidst thick smoke, firefighters conducted a perilous search using flashlights, while concerned neighbors watched anxiously outside.
Johnson expressed the community’s apprehension during the ordeal, hoping for a swift and successful rescue. Rescuers eventually located Nicholson inside the burning home and carried him to safety. He was promptly airlifted to Parkland Hospital due to the severity of his burns.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Sources close to Nicholson revealed he had previously suffered a stroke, leaving him partially paralyzed, which will likely complicate his recovery from this traumatic incident.
Johnson expressed sadness over the timing of the event, occurring so soon after the Fourth of July holiday, emphasizing the tragic circumstances surrounding Nicholson’s ordeal.
