Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said his party will welcome any sincere efforts aimed at Karachi’s development, emphasizing that all federal initiatives must align with the spirit of the 18th Constitutional Amendment.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Bilawal said, “Karachi is Pakistan’s economic lifeline, and solving its problems requires coordinated and consistent planning. We have discussed development projects with the federal government, and our focus is to ensure implementation that benefits the city’s people.”
Remembering former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, he said, “Shaheed Bibi was the voice of the poor. She stood firm against terrorism and sacrificed her life for democracy. Even after the 2007 Karsaz attack, she refused to give up her struggle.”
Bilawal added that the PPP continues to uphold Benazir Bhutto’s political philosophy and commitment to public service.
He noted that the party’s Central Executive Committee is meeting to deliberate on the country’s political situation and future strategy.
Commenting on developments in the Middle East, Bilawal called recent progress “a major diplomatic breakthrough” but cautioned that “while there is hope for Gaza, the risks are far from over.”
