The Balochistan Forest and Wildlife Department announced on Friday that it had recovered five wolf pups during an operation conducted in the Kakar Khorasan area of Zhob.
Chief Conservator of Wildlife Sharifuddin Baloch stated that Levies and police personnel also participated in the operation.
Sharifuddin identified the rescued wolf species as the “grey wolf.” He noted that the grey wolf population in Balochistan is facing the threat of extinction.
“The grey wolf is a rare species, and its population is low in the province,” he emphasized.
The wildlife official further stated that after receiving proper care and rehabilitation, the rescued wolf pups would be released back into their natural habitat.
