Provincial Home Department invokes Section 144, announcing a series of restrictive measures
In light of the prevailing volatile law and order situation, the Balochistan Home Department has imposed an immediate ban on motorcycle pillion riding (double riding) under Section 144. Authorities state that the decision is aimed at strengthening security measures and restricting the movement of elements involved in subversive activities.
According to the official notification issued by the Home Department, the restrictions extend beyond pillion riding. The notification clearly outlines that covering the face entirely while riding will also be prohibited to facilitate the identification of suspicious individuals. Furthermore, driving unregistered motorcycles will also be subject to strict action.
As part of the comprehensive security sweep, the use of tinted or black glass on vehicles has also been banned. The display of weapons in public remains prohibited under existing orders.
The Home Department also reiterated that the ban on the assembly of five or more people and public sit-ins (Dharnas) remains in effect to ensure maximum security.
Authorities confirmed that all these restrictions are being enforced due to the current security situation and will remain in place until November 30, with the primary goal of ensuring the safety and protection of citizens within the province.
