Pakistan’s star batter, Babar Azam, has made an explosive return to form, breaking two significant records held by top Indian players in just two days.
After being dismissed for a duck in the first T20I against South Africa, fans were eagerly anticipating a major innings from the former captain.
He first delivered in the second T20I. Although he only scored an unbeaten 11 runs, that brief innings was enough to push him past India’s Rohit Sharma to become the all-time leading run-scorer in T20 International cricket. Babar (4,232 runs) achieved this milestone in just 123 innings, significantly faster than Sharma, who had scored 4,231 runs in 151 innings.
Then, in the third match, Babar Azam played a superb 68-run innings. This marked his 40th score of 50 or more in T20Is.
With this achievement, he surpassed India’s legendary batsman Virat Kohli, who has 39 50-plus scores. Babar Azam now solely holds the record for the most 50-plus scores in the history of T20 International cricket.
