Former Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has urged Karachi fans to ensure their presence at the newly revamped stadium for the upcoming fixtures.
According to details, Azam shared his thoughts during the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by political figures and celebrities.
“I have a complaint from the people of Karachi for not turning up at the stadiums to watch cricket,” said Azam.
He encouraged fans to show the same enthusiasm as they did during the stadium’s inauguration, emphasizing that their support significantly boosts the team’s morale.
“We will aim to perform well in tomorrow’s fixture and the Champions Trophy 2025,” Azam added.
CM Murad Inaugurates Revamped Karachi Stadium
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah officially inaugurated the newly renovated Karachi stadium on Tuesday, ahead of the much-anticipated tri-nation series and Champions Trophy matches.
Representing President Asif Ali Zardari, CM Murad participated in the ceremony, marking the completion of the refurbishment, which was completed in record time.
Speaking at the event, CM Murad extended his congratulations to the nation and expressed pride in the swift completion of the stadium’s renovations. He stated, “The Sindh government is making all-out efforts to uplift sports.” He further highlighted that the renovation project had been initiated back in 2018.
Now a symbol of modern infrastructure, the upgraded stadium is ready to host international fixtures. On this occasion, Pakistan’s national cricket team also showcased the Champions Trophy at the venue, similar to their earlier presentation at Gaddafi Stadium.
