Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam said on Saturday that his team conceded more runs in the powerplay, which ultimately cost them the match against Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Expressing his thoughts after Zalmi’s defeat at the hands of the Gladiators, Azam stated, “The behaviour of the pitch changed, and it became slow in the second innings.”
“We could not forge any significant partnership except for the one between Saim Ayub and Hussain Talat,” he added.
He praised Saim Ayub for scoring a half-century on his return to competitive cricket. “Saim Ayub has batted brilliantly,” he commended.
“It is heartening to see Saim Ayub back in form,” Azam further noted.
