Leadership at Southlake-based Gateway Church said in a statement to NBC News they accepted the resignation of senior pastor Robert Morris, who has led one of the largest evangelical churches for more than two decades. ERCOT leaders plan to revamp their emergency plans for when they need energy quickly during the hot summer months ahead. At an ERCOT board meeting Tuesday morning, the CEO of the state’s largest power grid said the company’s “demand response” plan to add more power to the grid during stressful times was being overhauled. Tuesday, CEO Pablo Vegas told the board of directors that last year’s demand response plan included only three contracts for 10 additional megawatts on the grid. The Houston Police Department said officers were dispatched at about 2:30 p.m. to a shooting call in the 5300 block of Creekmont by a worker in the area who heard the gunshot and found the victim in a vehicle.
