A man is in custody after a SWAT standoff Wednesday at a car dealership in Rockwall. Rosye police said officers and deputies from the Royse City Police Department and the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office were trying to serve felony arrest warrants on 37-year-old Willie Jermaine Weekley prior to the standoff. Weekly was wanted out of Royse for two counts of family violence/violation of a protective order, police said. HOUSTON, Texas — Amid a rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations as the omicron variant travels around Harris County, public health officials are preparing to acquire additional nurses for local hospitals. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A woman is dead and a man is injured following a shooting in northeast Houston. On Wednesday at 2:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 10900 block of Cheeves Drive to a shooting. Once at the scene, officers found a woman had died and a man was wounded. Police said the man and woman were sitting inside a vehicle in the front yard of a home, when a dark-colored vehicle came up and fired multiple times. The scene unfolded in the 9000 block of Pheasant Trace Court in the Jersey Village area. According to Jersey Village police, officers in the area found a stolen vehicle. The officers followed the vehicle, but when they attempted to make a traffic stop the suspect accelerated in reverse and hit the police unit.
