HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Six people have died in wrong-way crashes on the Westpark Tollway since April 2021. This is a concern for Houstonians who travel on the highway during times when crashes like these happen. “For someone (Harris County Toll Road Authority) to put big, bright lights and signs saying, ‘Wrong Way,’ I feel like as a citizen, that would be adequate enough,” said Eyad Achraf, who is a Houston DJ. Achraf said he’s not done with his events until, sometimes, two or three in the morning. He said he’s aware these crashes happen and says it’s good to…

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A police chase Wednesday afternoon in northwest Harris County was not the typical high-speed pursuit. A dirt bike rider led authorities on a pursuit for about 45 minutes. On Wednesday, Cruz’s family shared more about the 23-year old, who they said was a young mother of two girls, 8- and 3-years-old. “She was a wonderful happy mother,” said Niño. Investigators said Cruz’s boyfriend, Sergio Davilla-Rodriguez, was intoxicated and was behind the wheel when he caused that…

Recently, the government halted a distribution in mitigation and relief funds, which really hurt communities like Kashmere Gardens and Settegast. “Plenty of us still need to get the proper repairs, so that they can live safely in their homes,” said resident Carolyn Rivera. Longtime Houstonians and members of Coalition for Environment Equity and Resilience (CEER) gathered on Wednesday to strategize and visit some of the properties that still need to be fixed up from Harvey. “The…
