North Texas is one patient away from tying the all-time record of people hospitalized with COVID-19. COVID-positive hospitalizations in North Texas reached 4,171 on Thursday, an 89 patient increase from the day prior, the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council reported. Of those, 265 are at Parkland Memorial Hospital, up 1 from Wednesday. A Dallas-Fort Worth radio DJ was charged with producing child pornography on Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas announced. Clois Glenn Raborn, 49, who occasionally appeared on The Russ Martin Show on KEGL-FM (97.1), made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon, the U.S. attorney’s office said. The investigation started in March when Raborn’s roommate discovered explicit images of children on Raborn’s laptop, the office said. Dallas police are asking for the public’s help finding an 11-year-old boy last seen early Thursday in the Mountain Creek area. Police said Traveon Griffin may be confused and in need of assistance. Traveon was last seen about midnight in the 5900 block of Naravista Drive, between Belt Line Road and Mountain Creek Parkway. Dallas police are now among a growing number of law enforcement agencies using aerial drones as part of their operations, but advocates say more oversight is needed to protect residents’ rights. Thursday marked the department’s formal introduction of its new drone unit.
