Investigators from the Hunt County Sheriff’s Department say they found what appears to be a human skull and are trying to identify the possible remains. Around 3:45 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office was notified about possible human remains on County Road 1060, just northwest of Greenville. When investigators arrived, they found what looked to be a person’s skull, the sheriff’s office said. No other remains were found, the sheriff’s office said Saturday in a news release. MINNEAPOLIS — A unvaccinated COVID-19 patient flown from Minnesota to Houston during a legal battle over whether his ventilator should be turned off died Saturday, the family’s attorney said. A Minnesota judge had issued a restraining order on Jan. 13 blocking Mercy Hospital from turning off the machine that was keeping Scott Quiner alive after his family sued the Coon Rapids, Minn., health care facility. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Rosa Cruz was walking northbound on Lillja Street near Aldine Bender on Saturday at about 10:30 p.m. when an unknown pickup truck struck her and fled the scene without rendering aid, according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies. Deputies received a call from a witness who found an unresponsive woman lying in a ditch on the 15500 block of Lillja Street early Sunday morning. Cruz died as a result of the crash, deputies said. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive in a pool on Sunday afternoon in northwest Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. Deputies responded to the 19500 block of West Stone Caldwell Drive at about 1 p.m., according to Gonzalez. The child was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, deputies said. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constable was shot to death early Sunday morning in what authorities are calling an ambush attack. It happened around 12:45 a.m. in the 9100 block of Beechnut during a traffic stop. Corporal Charles Galloway pulled over a car for a traffic stop, the driver exited his vehicle and fired repeatedly at Galloway’s patrol car, police said.
