Two people were killed in a Red Bird home Saturday night in what police said is an apparent murder-suicide. Dallas police were called about 10:20 p.m. to the 6600 block of Glade Street, near Polk Street and Camp Wisdom Road, where they found a 66-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman who had been shot. The man and woman, who have not been identified, were pronounced dead by first responders. Investigators said the motive appeared to be “a result of domestic violence.” No additional information was immediately available.
HOUSTON — A driver shot and killed a Houston-area deputy during an early Sunday morning traffic stop and then got back in his vehicle and drove off, authorities said. Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap identified the slain deputy as Cpl. Charles Galloway, 47, at a news conference. Houston police will handle the investigation. Police Chief Troy Finner said witnesses saw a man get out of his vehicle and fire multiple shots at the deputy before driving off. “This is senseless. It makes no sense whatsoever,” Finner said. A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot Saturday night in Mesquite, police said. Mesquite police were called about 7 p.m. to the 2800 block of Clay Mathis Road where they found the 16-year-old lying on the ground with an apparent wound to the chest.
