The Dallas City Council voted Wednesday to move forward with a plan to tear down the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center downtown and build a new one nearby. Officials voted 14-1 for city staff and consultants to begin design and engineering work for a new 2.5 million square foot convention center with a current construction price tag of up to $2 billion. A Grand Prairie man has been added to the state’s most wanted sex offenders list, the Department of Public Safety said Wednesday. Last April, Grand Prairie police issued a warrant for the arrest of Gregory Jon Pecina Jr., 37, on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender, the department said.
