HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The start of the 2024-2025 school year is less than a month away for Houston ISD students. However, some campuses may need more preparation time as Hurricane Beryl significantly damaged some areas. According to the district, Beryl impacted the largest school district in Texas, as 200 campuses lost power once the Category 1 hurricane landed. At least 60 campuses are reported to have roof or structural damage, 50 have trees down, and 20 campuses remain without power. A man who lives in northeast Houston called Eyewitness News to express concern that his usual bus stop, near East Houston Road and Sunbury Street, has been closed for 10 days. HOUSTON, Texas — June marked the second consecutive month of declining home sales compared to 2023 levels, according to the Houston Association of Realtors’ June market update. This sales slowdown also coincided with an increase in available homes, according to the report. Deputy Fernando Esqueda’s funeral service began at 10 a.m. and was held at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, located at 1111 St. Joseph Pkwy. His viewing was held Thursday night at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Esqueda was killed in an ambush shooting last week after a dispute over a pizza order in northeast Harris County. Activision has revealed the date of opening Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 beta version for players ahead of its release in October.
