A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board says last month’s plane crash in McKinney that killed two people and injured a third was due to engine failure. The NTSB report said that just before 10:30 a.m. on June 27, a 1980 Cessna 414A departing McKinney National Airport rolled upside down and crashed into a gravel mound less than a mile from the runway. A growing number of North Texas cities are telling Dallas Area Rapid Transit to do more with less. Carrollton and Farmers Branch are the two latest DART member cities supporting a plan to cut 25% of its funding. This comes as some cities want DART to explore other funding mechanisms to help support transportation needs for the next several decades.
