The Tarrant County deputy shot multiple times Wednesday afternoon was released from the hospital hours later. Deputy Todd Tipson was shot three times, including a bullet that grazed the back of his neck. “He is resting right now,” Sheriff Bill Wayborn said. “He is a tough guy.” At about noon Wednesday, deputies attempted to serve a warrant at a home near 28th Street and Beach Street in Fort Worth. Following the filing of a civil lawsuit against a behavioral center in North Texas, a director, and an employee have been arrested in connection with the alleged assault of a nonverbal child with autism. The North Richland Hills Police Department said 34-year-old Kiara Henry, the director and owner of ABA Interactive Therapy Center, was taken into custody Wednesday, Aug. 7, and charged with failure to report, a state jail felony. The body of a 28-year-old Serbian man was pulled from Fort Worth’s Marine Creek Lake Thursday morning after he apparently drowned during the first event of the 2024 CrossFit Games. The annual event opened for the first time in Fort Worth on Thursday morning and was scheduled to run through Sunday. Security at the State Fair of Texas will change this season, including prohibiting concealed firearms to be carried in Fair Park.
