ISLAMABAD: Amid rising electricity bills, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has announced an increase in electricity tariffs by Rs2.56 per unit, resulting in an additional collection of over Rs33 billion from consumers in August. The tariff hike was revealed on Thursday as part of the monthly fuel cost adjustment (FCA) for June. These additional charges will be reflected in the August bills of electricity customers. KARACHI: Mari Petroleum Company Ltd (MPCL) has recorded the highest-ever earnings of Rs77 billion during FY24 from Rs56bn in FY23, up by 38 per cent. The company declared a final cash dividend along with interim dividend of Rs232 per share for FY24, thus translating into payout ratio of 40pc in FY24 compared to 35pc in FY23. ISLAMABAD: The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (UNCERD) has commenced its session in Geneva, and started review of Pakistan on the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
