A Grand Prairie neighborhood is still feeling the impact after a fiery crash destroyed two cars – and witnesses say appeared to leave two people dead. It happened near 1500 South Belt Line Road after 8 p.m. on Saturday. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot at and then crashing into another vehicle in the Kashmere Gardens area, according to the Houston Police Department. According to HPD, officers were dispatched around 10 p.m. to what they classified as a major accident that OnStar reported. Two collided cars were discovered when officers arrived in the 400 block of Lockwood Drive. HPD said the crash stemmed from a shooting in a nearby parking lot at a gas station. HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A truck driver has died after a collision with an 18-wheeler whose driver admitted to being distracted by his phone, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The crash, which happened at about 12:10 p.m. on Saturday in the 18800 block of State Highway 99, involved four people including the 18-wheeler driver, pickup driver and his passenger, and a forklift driver. HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a 27-year-old man confessed to killing the mother of his children moments after her body was found in northwest Houston. Authorities reported finding a dead woman in the backseat of a vehicle on the 11077 block of the Northwest Freeway at about 4 p.m. Saturday.
