KARACHI: The University of Karachi (KU) syndicate on Saturday annulled the degree and enrollment of a candidate, reportedly a high court judge, following recommendations from its Unfair Means (UFM) Committee, university officials confirmed. The decision came shortly after the controversial detention of Dr. Riaz Ahmed, an academic and syndicate member, by the police. PESHAWAR: Three suspected militants were killed and four security personnel injured during an operation in the Tiaraza tehsil of Upper South Waziristan district on Saturday. According to sources, the militants allegedly attacked security forces in the Sholam/Toorwam area of Tiaraza. In response, the security forces retaliated, killing three militants.
