Growing international frustration with Washington over the war in Gaza became evident at the UN General Assembly this week, with key US allies recognizing a Palestinian state in a significant challenge to President Donald Trump’s Middle East policy. After promising to swiftly end the war between Israel and Hamas at the start of his second term, Trump increasingly appears to be a bystander as Israeli forces intensify their onslaught in the Palestinian enclave. He remains reluctant to rein in Washington’s closest regional ally. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu surprised Trump with a strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar earlier this…
Tax authorities in Pakistan are using evidence from a near-million-dollar wedding—complete with diamond sets and a drone light show—as part of a new “Lifestyle Monitoring Cell” tasked with scanning social media for extravagant spenders. Their goal is to identify influencers, celebrities, realtors, and businesspeople whose spending appears disproportionate to their declared income. “It’s open-source—their Instagram accounts are a public declaration,” a senior FBR official said, noting that tax evasion cases can now be initiated in a matter…

After someone in the room clarified “Bangladesh,” Shaheen quickly smiled and replied, “Ohh, Bangladesh, sorry.” He then laughed and added, “Mai head coach se puch lunga, sorry mujhe nahi pata,” (I’ll ask the head coach, sorry I don’t know). Strategic Outlook for the Match…
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he believes Ukraine, with the support of the European Union and NATO, can win back all of the territory Russia has taken since its invasion. Trump, who had a meeting with Ukraine’s leader at the United Nations earlier on Tuesday, had previously suggested that both Kyiv and Moscow would need to cede land to bring the war to an end. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said, “With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original borders from where this war started, is…
A senior U.S. envoy stated on Tuesday that Syria and Israel are nearing a “de-escalation” agreement. Under this deal, Israel would cease its attacks, and Syria would agree not to move any machinery or heavy equipment near the Israeli border. Speaking to reporters during the UN General Assembly meetings in New York, U.S. Special Envoy for Syria Tom Barrack said this agreement would be the first step toward a broader security deal that the two nations have been negotiating. Syria and Israel are currently in talks to reach a deal that Damascus hopes will lead to a halt in Israeli…
According to reports, nearly 35,000 parents in Sindh have reportedly refused to get their children vaccinated against poliovirus, with the majority of refusals coming from Karachi.
