In a delightful turn of events, Ann-Margret, the legendary actress famed for her roles in Bye Bye Birdie and Viva Las Vegas, has given her approval for Lindsay Lohan to portray her in an upcoming biopic.
The suggestion initially came from Jamie Lee Curtis on Monday, July 28, during her appearance on Good Morning America to promote Freaky Friday, the sequel to her 2003 film. The 66-year-old American actress enthusiastically championed her co-star, Lohan, for the role. “I’m going to out you now to the world — I want her to do the Ann-Margret story,” Curtis quipped. “So, every day on Instagram… I find videos of her back in the day, and I send [Lohan] every day videos [of Ann-Margret].”
Upon learning of Curtis’s pitch, the 84-year-old Swedish-American actress and singer, Ann-Margret herself, shared her thoughts in an interview with IndieWire. “I know that she wants to do that. It just depends on what the dialogue is like. What can I say? I adore her,” Ann-Margret said of Lohan, expressing her high regard. The Queen Bees star further admitted, “I think she’s full of talent, and I just would like to see what they can come up with,” singing praises for the Mean Girls alum.
