UK prosecutors have officially confirmed a total of 21 charges against the influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate. The well-known British-American brother duo, who are already under investigation in Romania, will face accusations including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking upon their return to the UK.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that it had authorized these charges against the brothers in 2024, prior to the issuance of an extradition warrant to bring them back from Romania. The CPS further clarified that “the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first.”
These recent charges follow the CPS’s receipt of an evidence file from Bedfordshire Police concerning allegations made in the UK. Andrew, 38, alone faces 10 charges related to three alleged victims, encompassing rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain.
Meanwhile, Tristan Tate, 36, has been hit with 11 charges connected to one alleged victim, including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking.
Both brothers were born in the US but relocated to Luton in the UK with their mother after their parents’ divorce. The Tate brothers were initially arrested in Romania in December 2022, following rape and human trafficking accusations against former kickboxer Andrew and human trafficking suspicions against Tristan. Both influencers have denied the charges.
