Following the hearing of the Toshakhana-2 case, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, spoke to the media outside Adiala Jail, stating that her brother had directed party leaders and workers not to contact the establishment. She added that if the establishment wishes to communicate, it should do so directly with him.
Regarding the Toshakhana-2 case, Ms. Khan commented that despite the main witness being discredited last week, the judge had not yet closed the matter. She also noted that both Brigadier Ahmed and Colonel Rehan, Imran Khan’s former military secretaries, had confirmed that all documentation on the gifts was complete. She said, “Logically, the case is concluded, but the judge is still recording statements of investigation officers. We strongly believe it will be closed in the next two to three hearings.”
On the Al-Qadir case, Ms. Khan mentioned that Justice Dogar had not taken it up for the past ten months. “However, finally, the case will be heard on the 25th of this month, and we hope that bail will be granted,” she added.
Saudi Pact and Cricket Team
Concerning the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia agreement, Aleema stated that her brother was already aware of the deal and appreciated it, emphasizing that it is the duty of Pakistanis to protect the Haramain Sharifain.
She also conveyed Imran Khan’s disappointment over press reports about the cricket team’s performance, quoting him as saying that the same team had defeated India by 10 wickets in October 2021. Drawing an analogy, Ms. Khan said her brother compared Mohsin Naqvi’s management of the Pakistan Cricket Board to the way the country is being governed, noting that both faced similar challenges.
Lastly, she said her brother had urged the nation to participate in the upcoming public meeting in Peshawar on September 27 to make it a success. She added that Imran Khan had instructed Junaid Akbar and Ali Amin Gandapur to work together to ensure the rally’s success.
