The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, have confirmed that their spokesperson, Abu Obeida, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Saturday. According to Arab media, the strike targeted an apartment in Gaza, resulting in the deaths of everyone inside.
In a statement reported by Arab outlets, the Al-Qassam Brigades stated that Abu Obeida was among those killed when Israeli warplanes bombed the apartment he was using in Gaza. His body was later identified by his family and senior leaders of the brigades.
Abu Obeida had served for years as the public face of Hamas’s military wing and was internationally recognized for delivering statements during conflicts. His death marks one of the most significant losses for Hamas in the ongoing conflict.
