Al Pacino and Katie Holmes are set to take leading roles in the forthcoming drama film titled “Captivated.”
Italian producer Andrea Iervolino has joined this mob thriller drama, which will offer a unique perspective on the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, distinct from Ridley Scott’s portrayal in “All the Money in the World.”
“Captivated,” directed by Dito Montiel, will delve into the 1973 abduction of Getty III and the unexpected connection that develops between Pacino’s character, Calabrian mafia boss Saro Mammoliti, and Holmes’ character, Gail Getty, the mother of Getty III.
The official synopsis reads, “They are two souls from completely different worlds, drawn together by a tragedy that will forever change their lives. Amid psychological tension and subtle desire, theirs is a seductive game of chess that adds a crucial layer to the mystery of the Getty kidnapping.”
Iervolino, the CEO of the newly established Andrea Iervolino Company, which he founded following a contentious split with his former business partner Monica Bacardi, quipped, “We are proud to be part of a project with such powerful storytelling, an outstanding cast, and a strong, personal directorial vision from Dito Montiel.”
He further noted, “Bringing part of the production to Italy is a source of pride for us: it means once again showcasing our country and its talents within a major international production.”
It is worth mentioning that “Captivated,” a film that has been in development for some time, is scheduled to commence filming in Rome later this month.
