Riyadh: Al Nassr suffered their first defeat in this year’s Asian Champions League as they were beaten 2-1 by Qatar’s Al Sadd. Cristiano Ronaldo was rested for the match after Al Nassr secured their knockout stage qualification.
Al Sadd’s Akram Afif scored early in the second half, and although Al Nassr equalized at the 80-minute mark with an own goal from Al Sadd’s Romain Saiss, Afif netted a penalty in injury time to give Al Sadd the win.
Ronaldo’s absence impacted Al Nassr’s performance, resulting in their first loss this season. Al Nassr remains third in their group, while Al Sadd advances to the last 16
