- Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed stated that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) responded with boldness and confidence to India’s aggression.
- “Our action was based on our own timing and choice. The leadership was clear and provided us with firm directives,” he said during a press conference alongside Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif and Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations).
- He mentioned that the PAF targeted the highest number of Indian Air Force (IAF) airfields in a single mission since 1971. “We ensured avoidance of civilian damage and struck with significant accuracy,” he noted.
- He further stated that Pakistan’s swift and effective response prevented India from establishing a “new normal” through aggressive actions.
- “Pakistan remains dedicated to safeguarding its airspace and fostering peace through strength,” he affirmed.
- He credited the Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Babar as the principal strategist behind the operation. “He assigned us three key tasks: restore deterrence, neutralize threats, and achieve air control,” Aurangzeb explained.
- He revealed that in the initial phase of the response, Pakistan targeted Indian Rafale jets, effectively grounding the fleet near the western border. “This limited their operational capabilities and freedom of maneuver,” he elaborated.
- Aurangzeb further added that India had launched drone attacks on Pakistani civilian areas. However, Pakistan’s radar and jamming systems successfully detected and neutralized all drones, rendering them ineffective.
