HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It’s a beautiful start to your Friday across SE Texas, with morning lows in the upper 60s and low 70s.
We do have an Air Quality Alert for Harris, Galveston, and Brazoria counties, but otherwise the day will be quiet pleasant.
A relatively dry flow will persist over Houston through the weekend as an upper level low spins to our east. That said, there will be still be enough moisture in the atmosphere for the low to develop a stray shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon as temperatures warm into the low 90s.
I have outdoor plans this weekend, should I be worried about rain?
It looks mostly dry this weekend, but stay weather-aware as a stray afternoon storm is possible (more likely Saturday than Sunday). All in all it’s a good weekend for any outdoor plans, plenty of sunshine and warm afternoon temperatures in the low 90s.
What’s happening in the tropics?
Hurricane Earl is churning near Bermuda, and there are two other tropical waves over the Atlantic that could potentially develop over the next five days. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
