Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu has stated that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is preparing for modern warfare by enhancing its capabilities in space, cyber technologies, and electronic warfare to protect the nation’s sovereignty.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the day began with special prayers and recitations from the Quran at all PAF bases across the country. These prayers were dedicated to the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 wars, as well as all who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty since the country’s creation. The main ceremony was held at Air Headquarters in Islamabad, with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu as the chief guest.
Air Chief’s Address
In his address, the air chief paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs, describing Martyrs’ Day as a symbol of the armed forces’ courage, sacrifice, and professionalism. He highlighted the PAF’s successes in the “Marka e Haq” and “Bunyan un Marsoos” operations, calling them proof of the force’s unwavering resolve and defensive capabilities. “The nation is indebted to the sacrifices of its heroes, and their legacy will serve as a guiding light for future generations,” he said.
Air Chief Sidhu affirmed that the PAF is fully committed to tackling evolving security challenges. He emphasized that the force is working to bolster its capabilities in space operations, electronic warfare, cyber technologies, and local defense production to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. On this solemn occasion, the Air Chief also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming Pakistan’s support for their just struggle.
