HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A fast moving cool front will pass through as the sun rises on Tuesday. Just ahead of it will be a line of storms capable of producing damaging winds.
Most areas will see rain amounts between .5 to 1 inch, but isolated areas could see higher amounts. Others could see less than .5 of an inch. Once the storms pass, you can expect sunny, breezy and cooler conditions.
High temperatures Tuesday will only warm in the low 70s with winds out of the northwest between 15 to 25 mph. Higher gusts will be possible. The winds will calm overnight and temperatures will tumble in the 40s for many inland areas. Along the coast, overnight lows will dip in the low 60s.
How cool will it get behind the front?
Breezy northwesterly winds will bring in cooler air during the day on Tuesday. Highs should only top out in the mid 70s. Tuesday night will get even colder with lows dipping into the upper 40s/low 50s. Highs through the rest of the week look to top out in the 70s before another cold front moves in Friday.
What can we expect for Halloween weekend?
Another cool front is expected to move through on Friday. This front will bring another round of showers and storms to our area. Behind the front, we’ll see another round of cooler, drier weather that should be perfect for trick-or-treaters.
What’s happening in the tropics?
There are two areas in the Atlantic highlighted for potential development. One has a high chance and the other has a low chance of development. These are both east of the United States so they don’t pose a threat for the Gulf. For the very latest check out our daily tropical update.
