KABUL: A significant political development has emerged from an important meeting of Ulema (religious scholars) and religious leaders in the Afghan capital of Kabul, signaling positive progress toward addressing cross-border infiltration into Pakistan. The meeting focused on strictly prohibiting movement across the border for military activities.
Sources confirmed to Tolo News that the Ulema and Mashaikh stressed in the meeting that while the defense of one’s rights and Sharia system is mandatory for every Afghan, they demanded the Islamic Emirate (Afghan Taliban) prohibit any individual from traveling abroad for military activities, in accordance with the existing directives of the Emirate’s leader.
The leaders strongly emphasized the core principle that Afghan territory must not be used to launch attacks against any other country. Furthermore, they asserted that the Islamic Emirate holds full authority to take decisive action against any violators of this crucial security measure.
The statement issued by the Afghan elders and scholars effectively endorses Pakistan’s long-standing demand, which has repeatedly urged the Afghan Taliban regime to prevent the use of its soil for destabilizing Pakistan. This internal religious pressure contrasts with the ongoing situation, where cross-border infiltration attempts into Pakistan persist.
