News: In a move that has stirred the accountability circles in Lahore, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken significant action against officials from Pakistan’s primary cybercrime watchdog.
Four officers from the National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCA), including a high-ranking Additional Director, were arrested by the FIA on Tuesday. The arrests were made based on serious allegations of misuse of official power and accepting bribes.
This development is particularly notable as the NCCA is the agency responsible for tackling digital crime and ensuring online integrity.
FIA sources have confirmed that the accused officials are scheduled to be presented before the Lahore District Court today for further legal proceedings. Prominent lawyer Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq is set to appear in court to represent the arrested officers. This case has raised significant concerns about transparency within the investigative body itself.
