MUMBAI, INDIA:
Renowned Indian musician Abu Malik, brother of Anu Malik, has made serious allegations against Bollywood power couple Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna in a recent interview, raising questions about the cost of success and the nature of personal relationships within the industry.
Abu Malik claims that both Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna were “desirous of progress at any cost” and, in pursuit of this ambition, they allegedly disregarded old and close relationships. He stated that the couple failed to prioritize even those individuals who had supported them during their initial struggles.
The musician specifically commented on Akshay Kumar’s alleged behavior, claiming he “takes straight help” and prefers to nurture only those relationships that are “beneficial” to him.
Citing Personal Incidents: Abu Malik provided a personal example, stating, “In 2017, I requested a video comment from Twinkle Khanna for my book, but she flatly refused, even though many other celebrities sent me videos.”
The Most Serious Claim: The most serious and emotional allegation made by Abu Malik concerns Akshay Kumar’s former secretary, Vikas Bali. Malik alleged that Akshay “gradually sidelined” Bali over time. According to Malik, Bali suffered a profound emotional blow from this neglect. “He could not handle the disregard, became heartbroken, and remained depressed until the last days of his life.”
Abu Malik, who organized major live shows in the 90s and 2000s, holds the position that Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are prime examples of stars who “do not repay favors.” These allegations have ignited a fresh debate on professionalism, loyalty, and the ethics of success in Bollywood.
