Pakistan’s interim head coach Aaqib Javed emphasized the importance of forming separate teams for Tests and ODIs on Thursday.
In a podcast shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Aaqib Javed, red-ball captain Shan Masood, and white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan, among others, discussed various cricketing matters.
Javed commented on the upcoming Champions Trophy, set to be hosted in Pakistan, stating:
“We will be looking forward to utilizing the home conditions during the Champions Trophy.”
He added:
“We cannot continue with one player for the entire year. People grow frustrated after continuous losses.”
Shan Masood shared his perspective, saying:
“Efforts have been made to prepare pitches at home that suit spinners.”
He also mentioned improvements in team performance during recent series.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan acknowledged the challenges faced by the team in 2024, highlighting the struggles against Australia and South Africa in ODIs. He expressed hope for better performances in the forthcoming events.
