Following Henry Cavill’s departure, there has been significant buzz around Liam Hemsworth, who is stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia in “The Witcher.” Now, Netflix has released a first look at season four, which features him in the role. In the new clip shared by the streaming service, it’s hard to tell the difference between the Australian actor and the “Man of Steel” star at first glance.
Returning Cast and a New Quest
Apart from Liam Hemsworth, the cast for season four has largely remained the same. This includes Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Princess Cirilla), Joey Batey (Jaskier), and Laurence Fishburne (Regis), among many others.
Season four, which the creators have confirmed will be the show’s penultimate season, is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on October 30. It will be followed by a fifth season that will conclude the story. Show creator, showrunner, and executive producer, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, previously stated, “This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together—hopefully forever.”
The upcoming season’s logline teases, “After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies.” It continues, “As their paths diverge and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.”
