Dallas: A grand “Thanksgiving Day” event was organized in Dallas, Texas, by the patriotic Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora of North Texas. The event saw participation from prominent community leaders of the DFW area, social figures, and the Consul General of Pakistan.
The event was presided over by renowned community leader and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Excellence, Mr. Hafeez Khan, while Aftab Chaudhry, Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, attended as the chief guest.
In his address, Consul General Aftab Chaudhry said that Pakistanis living around the world, especially in the United States, are expressing their deep love for their homeland and unwavering support for the Pakistan Armed Forces. He emphasized that the entire nation is united against enemy aggression, standing as one under the Pakistani flag.
He also spoke about India’s occupation of Kashmir, the deployment of 900,000 troops there, and the atrocities being committed against Muslims. He stated that India consistently resorts to denial and diplomatic maneuvers on the global stage. Blaming Pakistan for terrorist incidents, despite such realities, is unjust and disconnected from the truth.
Aftab Chaudhry highlighted that India is continuously trying to sabotage the Indus Waters Treaty, and blocking water is equivalent to waging war. Interfering with the natural order is an invitation to bloodshed, he warned.
He added that overseas Pakistanis are offering prayers of gratitude for the Pakistan Army’s successes and the enemy’s retreat. A documentary shown at the event exposed Indian objectives, featuring recent attacks such as the one on children in Khuzdar and acts of train terrorism.
He further stated that Pakistan will confront India’s state-sponsored terrorism and respond strongly, as India still refuses to truly accept Pakistan’s existence.
Community leader Hafeez Khan (Presidential Award) stated that overseas Pakistanis are proud of their armed forces, which have demonstrated their capability to counter any aggression—proven once again in recent events.
Amir Makhani, President of South Asia Democracy Watch, remarked that India started a conflict only to apologize within two hours. He emphasized the need to resolve the legacy issues of British partition through mutual understanding and peace. He also urged General Asim Munir to initiate a political ceasefire within Pakistan to strengthen national unity.
Abid Malik, former President of the Pakistan Society, paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and said their struggle must never be forgotten.
Ghazala Habib stated that Pakistanis and Kashmiris living in the U.S. hold deep emotional ties to their homeland and will continue to express this love on international platforms.
The event concluded with patriotic songs performed by well-known Pakistani singer Aziz Waris, which had the audience swaying with emotion.
